  1. Nazm is often earmarked for the didactic, narrative, satirical and descriptive purposes. Nazm even includes few classical forms of poetry, like masnavi (a long narrative poem written in rhyming couplets on any random theme, like didactic, romantic or religious); marsia (an elegy written in commemoration of the Hazrat Imam Hussain martyrdom in a traditional way); qasida(an eulogy written in praise of a nobleman or a king), all these classical poetry forms features a single commanding subject, concluded as well as developed in a logical manner. However, these classical forms of poetry have a different style and subject than the modern day Nazms, which are written in the late 19th century.
